We have been on several cruises and have sailed with many different lines. Cruises can be an easy way to have a relaxing and/or fun filled vacation. Is it you first time? Here are 5 tips to help the first time cruiser.
1 – Hairdryers are provided and most cruise lines supply soap and shampoo, and most will supply conditioner and body lotion. Save the room in your luggage for souvieniers and leave the cumbersome and heavy toiletries at home.
2 – Bring a jacket or sweater. Most cruise lines, especially those going to warm weather locations, keep the air conditioner running non-stop on high. Restaurants and theaters can get quite chilly especially if you spent a day beach lounging and had a little bit too much of sunbathing.

3 – Pack extra hangers. Most cabins are on the small side and have limited storage space. Make the most of your closets and bring some wire hangers from home. Another option? Most cabins are made out of metal so they are magnetic. Bring some magnetic hooks and hang wet towels or bathing suits to dry and help keep them out of the way. Bring magnets and hang daily itenerarys right on the wall.
4 – Spend the money and get a balcony. There is nothing like sitting in port or being out at sea on your own balcony. Early morning coffee or pre-dinner drinks, it doesn’t get any better than having your own personal space.

5 – See a show. Seriously, the talent on some of these ships is outstanding. We’ve seen Broadway style shows, amazing dance performances, and hilarious comedians. It’s part of what you pay for to cruise, so take advantage of it.
Now let’s go cruising!
