Disney Dining Review – Le Cellier Steakhouse

We have been lucky enough to go to Disney World 13 times and we have eaten at Le Cellier Steakhouse 7 of those times. Every visit has been great if not outstanding. From the service, to the ambiance, to the food and drink, it’s why we come back time and time again. The interior is a little dark and chilly, but welcoming on a hot Florida afternoon. The replica of Victoria Gardens out front are gorgeous and we actually have a print of it hanging in our dining room as a reminder of our special memories.

The personal touches from the cast members are a large part of what’s to enjoy here. They love to tell you about where they are from and other information about the provinces of Canada. They’ll let you know their favorite menu items, they’ll suggest wine pairings, and even run out of the restaurant after you unknowingly dropped your baseball cap.

A few years ago, we had eaten here for dinner with my parents and we were getting ready to go and Dad “lost” his glasses.  I tell our waitress Chelsea to ask around and as we are all looking he remembers he put them in his sock.  Yes, his sock.  We were laughing so hard and shared this with Chelsea.  As we are walking outside, Dad says oops I forgot my hat and turns around so Danny and I go running back to see what will happen when he has to tell them and there is Chelsea standing there with his hat saying did you forget something?

We were dying.  She said she tried to run through the restaurant out the back door so she could be standing there but she didn’t make it in time!  Took some photos with her and walked away laughing so hard.  What a fun time!

If I can remember correctly, every time we have eaten here, we have all ordered the filet with risotto. Some reviews say it’s too salty but all of us enjoy. I usually start with the cheddar cheese soup, (which I have tried to recreate at home but it’s just not the same) but have also had a tasty mussels dish and also once a refreshing tomato caprese salad. We tend to get a bottle of wine, which can be on the pricy side, and mixed drinks tend to be on the stronger side.

Reservations can be tricky to get but I have almost always been able to secure one at a decent dinner time. We are heading back in the beginning of December but I could not get a reservation earlier than 8:30 so I am going to cancel.   We are going with our grown nephew and his wife and figure that eating and drinking around the world would be a better plan than a time-consuming sit down meal!

Planning dining reservations at Disney can be more complicated than one might think. If you’re thinking about planning an upcoming trip, why not use a travel agent that can help you out in securing hard to get reservations such as Le Cellier.
